The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Peoples - by Stephen Covey

The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People

"Life is a beautiful journey of miles "

surely it has hurdles (problems) , Obstacles , high's and low's , up's and  down's , happiness and sadness , but these all in a pack makes life more beautiful , enjoyable and interesting to live . With any of the element  missing we can not thought of life because life become monotonous and boring with any one of them missing whether the problems or the achievements. There is no meaning of success without failure , the joy of success can't be imagine without failure because failure is an integral part of life likewise problems are the integral part of life which make life more flexible and adventurous.

So in the book "The 7 Habits of Highly effective peoples" , the author shares some of  the strategies or habits that you must adopt in your life to make it more flexible and enjoyable , so that you can tackle the problems of your life in a better fashion and you can cross every hurdle of your life and keep moving because "even the stagnant water rots " , so how can we thought of a stagnant life .

Author shares the " 7 powerful habits " which can change your life , which surely helps you
achieve the goal you want to achieve in your life , makes your personality better , helps you to change your perception towards life , helps to boost up your confidence and excites you to have faith on yourself that "you can do it " and once you have that faith in yourself you will definitely do it .

So before discussing about the habits the author firstly discussed about some of the major problems regarding our personality and our life .

The Author firstly disucussed about our paradigm in three aspects ::-
  • Our paradigm about ourselves
  • Our paradigm about society
  • Our paradigm about life

Author compares our paradigm with our spectacles , if we have right spectacles means clean and clear spectacles we can see the right things . The world around us seems to be colorful , we can enjoy the beauty of the nature and everything around us becomes fantabulous (fantastic + fabulous).
On the other hand
If we have wrong spectacles covered with dirt , the world seems us to be blur , the nature seems us to be colorless and everything around us seems us to be ugly because of not really it is but because we wore the wrong spectacles .
Same goes with our perceptions , if you have right perception you can see the beauty of the world but you have a wrong perception the world seems you to be blur .

so the Author Appeals us to change our perception from a wrong one to the right one and do a PARADIGM SHIFT

Paradigm about ourselves :-

Most of the time we underestimate ourselves ( " I can not do that" ,"I am a dumb")
like this because we have a wrong perception about ourselves .
Most of the time we get shy or just hesitate to express our views in public , we hesitate to even talk to any of the girl so proposing a girl is a just a dream for us  , we hesitate on stage to face many peoples listening us and in many aspects of life we just hesitate due to lack of confidence , due to lack of belief in us.
After that we don't participates in any of the events or social activities and just lives a normal daily life , no enjoyment , no fun , no likes , no dislikes , nothing .
This type of life is a burden on us because with this type perception we can not achieve our goals we can't fulfill our dreams and never become what we wanted to be in our life because we lost many of the opportunities of our life just because of this very wrong perception and you might feel regret afterwards.

This mostly happens in our teenage ,

In schools we do not go onto the stage ,we do not participate in any of the fests or competitions , we even don't talk to our girl classmates and many more....
again due to lack of confidence and belief we do not express ourselves and this makes a huge difference between what we are and what we seems to others . Our teacher might declare us a dumb and a foolish student and this is really painful especially for a teenager.

We overestimates the others and underestimates ourselves although we are much better than anyone else but our perception about ourselves makes us inferior in front of others .

So author appeals us to not to underestimate ourselves , and i appeals just believe in yourself and have confidence and must have a right perception about yourself.

Perception About Others :-

Most of the times we come across the situations where we react inappropriately due to our wrong perception about others , without knowing the reality of the situation or circumstances we just bursted on someone . I am sure you had also done this .
Sometimes we shouted on our employees for the delay in projects or services but he/she might have a very crucial reason for delay.

Sometimes we get angry with our friends for their weird behaviour with us but he might be suffering from some problem , some family matters or some personal issues .

So author appeal us to not to react so early and we must have to find the soul reason behind the scene and take decision on the base of reality not just on out perceptions otherwise we might loose our good employee or may be a Good Friend.

so
the curtain of
perception and
 search for

In this reference author shares many of the the real life examples where we most of the times over reacts and the first habit is all about these life issues.

So in the next post we will discuss about first Habit in detail
till then...
